    Hi All – Like Dave Petteruto,
    I am also now having a problem in Vegas 6 trying to capture video -I had no problems for a while and then recently when I hit the capture video tab a message that reads “The device ‘Cirrus Logic USB-DVR2 Source’ could not be opened. Please make sure that it is turned on and is not being used by another application or user.” It does not allow me to capture to video anymore

    The camera is hooked up through the firewire card. Anyone have any suggestions for me?

    cheers and thanks

    The file is in the Pinnacle download for the Dazzle Video Creator series.

    Unregistering the associated files in “C:\Program Files\Pinnacle\Shared Files\Filter” does not fix it.

    However, deleting the registry key below fixed it for me. As always, be careful when editing your registry if you are not a power user. Also, be aware that deleting this key will remove the Cirrus Logic listing as a capture device for the entire machine, not just in Vegas. If you no longer use the Dazzle (you state you are using firewire), it shouldn’t matter.

    Locate and delete this key to fix.

    HKEY_CLASSES_ROOT\CLSID\{860BB310-5D01-11d0-BD3B-00A0C911CE86}

    However, if you re-register the files in the directory above the device returns, just something to watch out for if you reinstall the Dazzle software at any time.

    Hope this helps,

    Nate
