I’m working with footage that was shot on a cloudy day.
How can I punch up the colors and maybe give the shots more contrast.
And in one of the scenes I would like to bring out one particular
color—there are several cars and i’d like to have a yellow car stand out
more than the rest—Is this possible?

Try playing with Color Curves first.

Color Curves is a very versatile tool. You can get different contrast looks with the default RGB all together, or you can effect R,G,B separatley for different color emphasis (or de-emphasis). If you REALLY want to accentuate one color range, then Secondary Color Corrector is the tool for you.

As stated above, color curves. Also the four sliders at the bottom of Color Corrector: Saturation / Gamma / Gain / Offset.

You could also download the free 6 color corrector at: https://www.moosehill.se/index.php?page=vegas/6cc.php
and then play with individual colors — very powerful.

As far as punching up the colors on a foggy day..just open Secondary Color Corrector and increase the saturation a little. It can make the colors more vibrant. Don’t over do it, though!
