Converting 4:3 to 16:9
Hello Evceryone,
I am back here with another qustion. Let me first thank all those who helped me with their suggestions and ideas with my last problem.
I am currently working on a project with source footage which is 4:3 DV PAL. I would like to output this project as a true 16:9 widescreen (not letterboxed version). What is the loss in quality i will incur by converting the 4:3 source to true 16:9. I will also be having a 4:3 version of the same project. If anyone can kindly suggest me the steps in acheiving the results that i expect, i would be greatfull. I am using Sony Vegas 6.0C. If i am right i think the steps involved are.
1. Create a 16×9 Widescreen Project
2. Drop the 4×3 source files on the timeline
3. Render using the 16×9 widescreen DV PAL Template as DV Avi
4. Use your MPEG encoder to convert the 16×9 output avi file to a 16×9 MPEG2 file for DVD authoringHope i am right, if anything more to be done please feel free to suggest.
