    Question #1

I bought some Artbeats stock footage (Film clutter 2). Now some of the clips come with
mattes. I’m not sure how to use the mattes in Vegas. Is it like this?

    Layer 1: Artbeats footage
Layer 2: Artbeats Matte – Composite mode set to multiply mask
    Layer 3: My footage

The above isn’t working. Could someone explain to me how to set it up please?

    Question #2

In regards to this clip here which is ‘FC278’ in the middle area.

Now this is a white background with coloured texta marks on it and also
    comes with a matte.

I suppose I should be asking Artbeats this question but how are they expecting the
end result to look like after that one is composited, considering the background is white
and not black? I’m assuming that the white is meant to be transparent or am I wrong? The Matte
is black and the texta marks on the matte are white.

How would I composite that one?

    Do this:

Track 1: Mask you have created – white for the cutout, black for the rest.
Track 2: Media to show in the WHITE of the mask
Track 3: Media to show in the BLACK of the mask

Add a Sony Mask Generator to the mask. Change the compositing mode of track one to Multiply (Mask).

Make Track 2 a child to Track one.

Now you will see track 3 in the black area and track 2 in the white area.
