old tv tube effect ??

Remember the older tv’s that when powered down the white dot shrunk down to nothing then a white wide horizontal line would snap. plus that high pitched whistle noise like an old camera flash recharging ????

Making an ad that needs this effect at beginning. I cant remember how it really looks by memory or the best, most efficient way to recreate this in V6.
It can be a little “cartoony”

– motion masking key frames white over black ?
– film an old TV. ( too much time to find one)
– links too a video that has that look. (purchesing a motion back is not in their buget)

Any thoughts would be appreciated

This type of stuff is one of those very rare times when I revert back to Ulead Media Studio. It has a few filters and transitions of this kind that are not present in Vegas. I am not sure you could easily do it in Vegas, at least not as easily as throwing on a transition like this (created in 30 second, not with the sound though…):

However I was thinking of the more round style that pops into a horizontal line.
I’m gonna give it a whirl , see what happeens.

thats kind of the idea…but longer ending then into a round white phosphor glow then a snap to a horizontal white line.
We’ve all seen this now I cant get it.
Argh.

Hey Zip, slap a cookie cutter effect on it and shrink it down in sync with the square. That should work.
