    Hello,

    I have been an observer of this website for quite some time, but have just recently decided to actively search for help amongst the cows in this field. I just recently graduated college and am in some need of serious tutelage…

    I am currently working for a startup production studio and need to create the affect of a “snowball” being thrown at the screen, having the screen shake while its hit, and then creating the perspective that when the ball does hit the screen, the screen will turn all white….because….snow balls are white…

    I am trying to use do this using the stroke tool which is being used in an adjusment layer….Thank you in advance to anyone who will attempt to help this pro noob. Thanks!

    Fisrtly,thanks a lot to the creativecow.com.I have learnt many useful skills and stuffs in this website.The tutorials are so awesome,so surprise to me.The talent teachers show a different world to me.I like it so much that I come here three or more times(mornint,noon,night) every day .Bad luck, several days ago,I met a annoying proplem.It is that I read a interesting article and want to add some contents.Then I click the link “add content”,but it poped up a website which said that my account are in moderation.I tried some times and you know that it is failed.I do not know how can I solve that problems.I just want to say thank to the teacher(I call that)and have some communication with them.By the way,I have stay in that website at least one month.I want to connect with them very much.We do not know each other,but we can know each other via communication.

    Hey! thanks for your input! I really appreciate it. I’m not so experienced in 3d modeling, but there is a first for everything! As for the green screen, I think I can just use a white ball of some sort to create the same effect, it doesn’t have to be snow. I’ll try both, just to get the experience under my belt!.

    Actually, in my experience, the best snowballs have a few rocks and the occasional nail in them. One good hit, and that guy ain’t getting up. 😉

    I have actually thrown things at the camera, with a large pane of glass held in front of the lens. Works great. Just make sure to clean the glass between each take.

    Depends on your need for realism.
    Create a comp that is about 1.5 times the size of your base media format. You will be nesting this comp into another standard sized comp.
    Create a shape layer that’s a circle, fill it with white.
    Scale it way down and position it someplace on the screen. Set keyframes for scale and position.
    Move one second down the timeline.
    Move the layer to the exact center.
    Scale the layer to about 300%.
    Now you finesse the temporal and spatial keyframe eases of the motion path and the temporal adjustments for the scale.
    Bring this comp into another standar comp.
    When the ball hits the end, use any of many techniques to add some jiggle. Use any of many techniques to either wipe in or explode a solid white layer so it covers the entire canvas.
