I’m aware that only version 6 can nest projects & that if I wish to add one Vegas 5 project into another one, that I will need to open 2 instances of Vegas & just use cut & paste to add one project into another one. What I was wondering about is the fact that is if your 2 or more projects were in any way complicated (having many tracks) when how does one know where the project being pasted will be inserted? Is there any rule of thumb for pasting so that you don’t create extra unneccasry tracks? Do you have any control over what tracks the pasted project will occupy?

I usually just render each project to a DV-AVI file and then create a final project from those DV-AVI files. I don’t worry about copying complicated projects to another project. A huge problem when copying between projects is any track level effects.

It CAN get pretty complicated. I usually do the same as Edward suggests.
