Autodesk Combustion has a handy setting that allowed a 3D layer to be always in front of another 3D layer regardless of positioning/rotation.
    Is that possible with AE?

    Thanks Dave,

I was hoping the answer allowed for more programming interactivity between the layers in the main comp without resorting to tuning a precomp and going back to see if it worked. It seems like such a simple tool. I wonder why AE hasn’t built this ability in?

You can put an adjustment layer inbetween the two layers and ‘break’ the 3D space – forcing the object above the adjustment layer to always be in front of the layer below it, regardless of position in 3D space.

    Nico,

A blank adjustment layer….who woulda thunk! Thanks for the help.
