Can someone plese recommend hardware requirements for properly editing on Vegas? I have an Intel 3.2 single processor with 250 gigs of space on Raid 1. I have 2 gigs of RAM and Vegas is still very choppy when playing back in the preview window on the timeline. This is driving me crazy. I am sick of rendering to Ram every time to see what my output looks like….Please help….

Your machine is more than capable of playing back in real time.
Having said that though, there are a number of questions to be answered.
How many tracks are you trying to play back simultaneously?
How many of these tracks have FX applied and, if this is the case, which FX? Some are much more CPU-intensive than others.
Is your preview window set to Best-Full? If so, drop it to Preview-Auto and try again.
