I’m using 0% velocity on a clip and it’s flickering. I set ‘reduce interlace flicker’
and it’s still flickering. (Shots of people moving around quickly)

This hasn’t happened before, why is it happening now and what’s a good way to fix it?

Also, if I make a still (PJEG) from a video shot and bring it back into Vegas, I noticed
there is a significant drop in quality. Is there a fix for this?

Sometimes dragging the velocity line doesn’t always stay at exactly zero, so it’s safer to right click and use “Set to” and hit the 0 key.

Before making a still always change Preview to Best (Full).

If you dragged the velocity envelope with the mouse, it could be at 0.0001. Right click the handle (that little box on the envelope) and enter zero for the velocity.

Hmm. I did that, ‘entered 0%’ in the ‘set to’ box and the flicker is still there.

It’s like it’s stopped on a frame not a field (That’s the type of flicker).

    What else can cause this?

Have you turned on “Reduce Interlace Flicker”?

Yeah reduce interlace flicker is on..

Can’t understand this one. I ended up fixing it by using a still (JPG) rather than 0% velocity. Must be something weird going on with this project. I’ve used 0% velocity before with no problems and I’m not doing anything different now.

Oh well.. I’ll see how it goes on the net edit.
