zoom out plus fade out?
Posted by Kevin Mccarthy on August 10, 2005 at 10:30 pmI know I’m missing something really simple, but aren’t those the worst kind? I want a piece of text that is on top od video to zoom out and fade out at the same time. I can only seem to get one or the other but not both.
Suggestions please and thanks in advance.Edward Troxel replied 20 years, 9 months ago 4 Members · 6 Replies -

To fade text pull down fade handle on right of text box on timeline. -

August 11, 2005 at 6:42 pmThat works fine if you want your text to be in the dead center of the screen. If you want to place the text on the bottom left hand corner of the screen then the text wil not stay in one place as it zooms out. I want the text to stay in the same location of the screen as it zooms out and I want to fade out the text before the zoom is completed. I’ve tried numerous ways and it appears that I can’t do this in Vegas. I would love it if someone would prove me wrong.
Here’s what I’m trying to accomplish:
Text fades in at bottom left of screen with zoom out effect in progress
Text fades out in same position before zoom out completes. -

You sir, are a gentleman and a scholar. Now, would you be so kind as to explain to us how you did that!
Thanks again

August 11, 2005 at 8:31 pmI just created the text the “large” size and positioned it using the “positioning” tab. Then I used Pan/Crop to zoom out (i.e. you have to make the “F” window BIGGER) and adjusted the final position to reasonably match the initial position.
For the fades, just used the standard fade (move the mouse to the corner of the event, it turns into a quarter moon, click and drag inward).
Just decipher the VEG file.
