I was able to save my a__ on an important project by using Serious Magic’s Ultra, a program just for chromakeying. It’s particularly good at getting rid of the jagged edges and background color reflections on the subject.

Thanks for the info. Is Ultra a stand alone program or a plugin for Vegas? I do alot of work in Poser, a character modeling/animation program. I typically choose a color for the background that appears to be much different from any on the character. But I sometimes still have problems with the background color “sticking” to the contours of the character’s body. For instance, I chose a monochromatic sky blue for my background and no matter how much I tweaked the video, some blue stuck to the dark brown hair of the character, unless, of course, I was willing to take out some of the the character itself.
Another complaint: I used my sky blue background on a lavender shirt and the chromakeyer in Vegas 6 turned it into red. Now this may just be a bug, because I never had the problem of actually changing a color in Vegas 3 which I recently upgraded from.
