  • Has the Creative Cow Forum Format Change recently?

    Hi All,

I’m trying to mark the postings that I went through and it seems that there has been a change to the forum. I can’t mark anything as read. Am I missing a setting here somewhere?

Yes, Ralph (and others who may be wondering), we recently (on Tuesday)switched to our new quad opteron box that we bought. When we did that, we also changed our mechanism.

Eric has been chained to his chair with a coffee iv drip and working on squashing the bugs almost night and day since that move. (Just kidding.)

For some reason the cookies wouldn’t hold on the pc, but it should be working again — it is for me anyway. He’s also working on restoring all the features of the old “view entire thread” option if that’s the way you prefer to surf. He’s hoping to restore those functions today.

Sorry for the inconvenience. It seems there’s always something that comes up with anything new. With the new mechanism, we’ll be able to offer so much more.

If you’re still experiencing problems, please feel free to either post here or in our cowmunications forum or send a private email to kathlyn@creativecow.net or eric@creativecow.net. Be sure and include your OS and browser information so that Eric can troubleshoot the problem.

It’s definitely starting to feel more stable than it has the last couple of days. It appears the clock is even right now instead of showing me GMT.

It appears the clock is even right now instead of showing me GMT.” – nothing wrong with Greenwich Mean Time!

Anyways, I got my INTERNET PC hosed by something nasty 22/23 June and now I can’t repsond here without entering my details – I have tried. I have tried to “change” my details, but I’m not getting the responded to email back at my inbox. I’ve looked in the Trash or Delete folder – nothing there.

Let’s see if this “reply” is going to create me being recognised once more, when I return!

Eric thanks – but I can’t get the auto email back to me. Oh, I got yours though!

    Grazie

    Hi Kathlyn & Eric,

Thanks for the response, I now know that I haven’t lost it yet. I didn’t get any replies back to me directly, so I’m tesing the responses and I have checked Entire Thread.
Keep up the great work and that Cow Sauce is Dynoooomite! 🙂 Mooooooooooo!

The only problem I see remaining at this point is that after you reply to a post, the following now gets appended to the URL:
    &remote_logo=&color=CCFF99

Because of this, all “read” posts are no longer marked as “read” unless I back up to the url without the extra stuff appended.

Thanks Edward. Eric is continuing with the bug fixes, so please keep your comments coming.

Sorry for the inconvenience. Hopefully, it will soon be back to your normal cow experience.

Temporary solution. After you post, remove the extra junk in the url. It will return to the “remembered” post page. The proper url will end in 24.

Using Opera 8.0 when I click an individual post to view that url becomes marked as read, but when I click the “T” to view entire thread none of the urls in that thread get marked as read.

I just hit back, back, back to return to the original URL. Works for me – just found it interesting that it started appending the extra information. Love the fact that the date/time is now correct for MY timezone. Thanks much for that.
