Quick clarification…when in/out points are set on the timeline in DVDA, is the complete file rendered into the project but only the selected sections are seen (or scene… ha ha)? Or does DVDA actually leave the “unselected” sections completely out of the rendered project? Just curious because I’m not seeing how you can actually split the file and delete the unwanted sections in DVDA.
Obviously one could go back into Vegas to chop off some pieces but the workflow would be better to stay in DVDA. But it’d be a waste of space if DVDA burned those sections to disc only to ignore them.
    Hope this makes sense.

    thanks

If you are bringing in the file as an AVI and encode to Mpeg in DVDA, then yes, the Mpeg files are created using just the defined in and out points.

If you import as Mpeg, then the whole file is used regardless of where the in and out points are set.
