Hello, I recently purchased an acedvio card and it’s been working great so far, and I have been able to externally monitor things. The problem is that I can’t seem to get it to monitor anything anymore. It’s connected to my tv, but the signal doesn’t seem to get there. Sometimes vegas does not even switch to the “External Monitor” screen. I don’t know if anybody else has had this problem, but I can’t figure it out. It would be nice to monitor from my card…

Did you do any major software upgrades to Windows?

Mine is working fine with Vegas 6. Sometimes, if I have several instances of Vegas open…one might try and hold on to the external display.

Have you updated to the latest firmware from Canopus?

I pretty much gave up on that card. Returned one as my system just “lost” it. Ran a check with a utility they sent me and they said it was pooched. Replaced it and they later said there was nothing wrong with it. ???

The new card was detected correctly but the firewire doesn’t work correctly. 6 pin is useless, only the 4 pin works. That was the only firewire I had, so I couldn’t use a camera and firewire hard drive at the same time.

I won’t be going with an internal solution again. Now I just use a camera as a transcoder etc. and am much happier.

You might try installing latest driver for the driver for the card. I had this same thing happen with mine a while back…computer showed the 1394 in the devices list, but it wouldn’t output external monitor, and the software that came with the card wouldn’t recognize the card at all. If I remember right, I just installed the latest driver from their website and it’s back to working fine.
