  DVD stutter and weirdness

  WE are trying to finish a DVD project which is one continuous 96 minute movie with
  multiple menus for teaching.
  One particular menu goes to a section 3/4s through the project.

  After clicking on the button it is very slow in starting, then stutters, stalls, shows artificats and then finally places ok.
  This same section plays ok via other menus.

  What could be the problem?
