When capturing, (Vegas 5) I am now getting this error message: “Capture has been stopped because the managed capture drives have run out of space. Preview and capture may be unavailable until you free some space on C:Documents and Settings/Video Editing/My Documents.” The error message also says: “You can also change your managed drives in the disc Management preferences.”

The latter is what I want to do. I don’t know how or why I ever configured Vegas to capture to the “C” drive. But, I can’t figure out how to change it. Online “help” talks about going to the Disc Management Tab under ‘options’ / ‘preferences.’ But, I see no such tab.

Can anyone give me a “walk-through” on how to configure Vegas to capture my video to another hard drive?

Open Vegas Capture, go to Options – Preferences, go to the Disk Management tab (it’s there), and change where you wish to capture to. Make sure you’re opening the CAPTURE preferences (i.e. inside the capture program) instead of Vegas’ preferences.

Thank you – as always – Edward. I was searching the VEGAS options / preferences. When I followed your advice and went to the Capture window and searched that Options / Preferences, Disc Management was right there as you knew it would be. A much better explanation than Online Vegas Help. Thank you very much.
