Is there an easy answer to why Photoshop layer support is included in DVDA but not Vegas? I’ve been using 3D track motion with some photos I chopped up in Photoshop…seems like things would go faster/easier if Vegas would just import the PSD files and see the layers. I’m obviously missing the boat here on DVDA, but where does the use of layers come into play?

I don’t have an answer for why there is no psd supportr in Vegas 6, but in DVDA 3, it makes it very easy to set up menu backgrounds, buttons, highlight masks, etc.

Don’t forget you can save each .psd layer separately and put each on its own track in vegas. A workaround but it does work.

I’ve been exporting the layers out of photoshop and bringing them in on separate tracks in Vegas as you suggest, but it would just be easier if Vegas would grab the psd file and throw them on layers for you. I understand what Gary said about making backgrounds and what not, but that doesn’t seem nearly as useful as that functionality in Vegas would be.

    Thanks for the replies.

OK, I am missing the boat here now… Why would you want to import a PSD file into separate tracks?
