Optimizing for HD?
Hey Alan, just want say how incredible the program you’ve created is! In many regards it’s outstanding. I’ve noticed you’ve discovered some problems with the coding in regards to November’s emitters. So will you be re-writing the code any time soon? I ask because I’m wondering if there are any plans to optimize it for playing HD footage, in that re-write? Or would that involve a complete re-writing of the code. Because Particle Illusions would be so unbelievably fantastic if it did. I mean, not all of the emitters people have made are great, some are even downright hokey, but some are so incredibly realistic that it makes it worth it’s weight in gold!! I understand it’s a Special Effects engine, but will it one day play HD smoothly like NLE’s can on powerful computers. Really looking forward to your answer!

Not everybody uses pI for realistic effects, hence the variety of emitters.
Better movie file support is in the plans, but it will be quite a large undertaking so won’t be coming anytime soon.

Lorence, as the Developer I most certainly respect your opinion, but I have to respectfully disagree. What you have here, is nothing short of complete brilliance. It could honestly become “THE INDUSTRY STANDARD”. But to do so, YOU would have to present it as a Professional package, and that includes HD support and including only Professional looking effects. Of course it’s only my opinion, and what does that matter in the grand scheme of things, but I truly believe it could be a show stopper!! The app. that everyone reaches for, for Professional Special Effects!! I mean from a financial perspective the sky would be the limit, with only a tiny bit of tweaking. A goal most worthy of pursuing……..no?
Anyways, at the end of the day, it’s none of my business really. But honestly if I had deep pockets I would invest every penny in this Program, and make it all it can be. All it should be!! Forgive my rantings, it’s meant only with the best of intentions, my friend.
