  Importing .avi files into Particle illususion 3.0

  Hi, I have just down loaded the demo of PI 3.0. I think it is a great product! My question is I am having problem loading .avi files or .mp4 files to use with the effects. The .avi file are from a camcorder. I can export the effects into an avi file, but nothing on the import side.
  I have gone to the FAQ’s and read the tutorials. I have made changes in the “perferences” option, like BG and other ways to import .avi. After all that, it still says it is not a IP3 file, and will not import.
  I am using windows 7, running 8 GB of Ram and i7 core processor. I am not using adobe photoshop or CS. I am very interested in purchasing this product, but would like to know if importing .avi files are possible. I would like to give it a test run, before purchasing.

  I am new to this program, but have great interest. Any advice or walk through is appreciate.
