    Hi all

Have the demo version of PI and am learning to use it.

I have gone through Elvis’ excellent tutorial on Disintegrating a green logo – which is great for learning the concepts of how this software operates.

I export to QT- animation codec for use in motion / Final Cut Studio

I get a nice alpha for everything BUT the black square that masks out the BGND logo as the emitter “disintegrates” it via the VERY handy “get color from layer option”

On final render – when i place the output over another picture in motion -MOST of the alpha is nice but -The Square is there in the background as a dark blob that kills any further composition options on a new background.

Is there a way to alpha out the square? (so that it masks the green logo but doesnt come up in the final alpha? )

Or should i look to something like IR’s Particle Metrix (a much more specific/ limited app) for this effect
