I’ve been thinking about how to make a basic sparkle emitter follow the circumference of a circle in Particle Illusion, but haven’t had any luck doing so in a precise way. Any help would be appreciated.

Have you tried using the “record position” feature…(when you
right click on an emitter in the preview window)…and then
    “Point smooth” when done.

Take a look at “Silly Sling” on the “other” downloads page of our website. This is an Excel file to calculate spirals, circles, and other crazy paths. You can then use the output with “import position data” for an emitter.

There are several sheets in the file — the first one is “instructions”, the second is where you input data, and the third is the data to export.

The presets don’t work for me, but I’m using OpenOffice Calc, not Excel.

Thank you, I’ve curious about how to do this. This is awesome.

Any word if there will be a new version of PI out in the near future?

My friend and I actually ended up using a program that can control the position of your mouse and tween it based on coordinates you give it. It’s called AutoHotKey and it’s working awesome for less uniform shapes.
