Future of partical Illusion?
Posted by Dave Navarro on May 10, 2008 at 11:53 amAny future other than new emitters?
Is a 3.1 or 4.0 in the works? Perhaps with better support for output? Easier seemless looping?

May 10, 2008 at 9:45 pmYes, 4.0 is in the works. I originally talked about a 3.5 release, but it will be called 4.0 instead. You won’t see anything about it for several months though.
I’m not sure what you mean by “better support for output”. Seamless looping is a much-requested feature though, and we’ll be investigating.

May 11, 2008 at 2:25 pmTo output with an alpha channel, don’t you still have to export individual frames rather than a QT or AVI with alpha support?
It’s been a couple months since I needed to use it, so I don’t remember.

May 12, 2008 at 8:22 pmCurious as to whether there are still plans to have a PI plugin for after effects. We have been patient.

May 13, 2008 at 7:47 pmWhen we release 3.0.4 (Win) in the next week or so, you’ll also have the ability to add to the list of codecs that support alpha, so if you don’t see the codec that you use listed there, don’t worry. You’ll still be able to use it soon.

May 29, 2008 at 3:03 amI’d like to offer a suggestion, if I may…
The ability to detach the stage as a seperate window. I run dual monitor, so moving the stage to my second monitor would help me work on HD projects.
