masking objects in particle illusion se
Posted by Lee Brennan on October 13, 2007 at 6:07 pmHi,
Is it possible to mask objects in SE? By that I mean “masking” an object (A Building) so that an effect ( a flamethrower) appears to go behind the building in a video clip?

October 14, 2007 at 5:11 amNo, SE is lacking both layers and Blocker objects, making masking a difficult task. You’d have to do any masking in an editor or compositor.

October 14, 2007 at 2:55 pmHi Elvis,
Thanks for the reply. I’m assuming that PI3 does this and I also noticed that at one time there was a “special” sale to upgrade from PI SE to the full blown version of PI. (It has expired). I guess I’ll wait to see when (or if) PI has another of those sales.(Cost was a consideration when choosing between PI3 and PI SE). Thanks again for the reply. -
