  Output PI effects with transparent background

  How does one output a PI effect with a tranparency background to be used as an overlay in FCP?

  When rendering to an image sequence or uncompressed Quicktime, just make sure to check the Save Alpha box in the Output Options window. A lot of the options are explained in this tutorial, which is for After Effects but should still help you understand the various options.
