I cannot install particleIllusion 3.0 demo
Can someone please help me install it?
For 3 days now, I’ve been getting and error.“Windows cannot find ‘C:\SETUP.EXE’. Make sure you typed the name correctly, and then try again. To search for a file, click the Start button, and then click Search.”
I do not know what the problem is. The file is clearly there, as well as the other neccesary files.
Redownloading does not help. Rebooting does not help. Safe Mode does not help.
I’ve tried alot of other methods too but they also didn’t work.
I’m starting to think that it is an InstallShield problem, but I have no idea.If anyone has had a similar problem can you please reply.

Are you running the Setup from within the Zip file? I think that has caused a problem for some people in the past, so its best to unzip everything to a temporary folder, and then run it.

No no, everything is unzipped correctly.

Also, try running it from within WinZip (double-click setup.exe within WinZip). For some people it works that way and not when they unzip; for other people it only works when they unzip.

Alternate solution: download the demo without an installer. Just unzip into a new folder that you create, and make sure that the “use folders” option is checked so the folder structure is preserved. Download here:

Thank you, that did the trick.
But I would still apreciate it if someone still finds a solution to my InstallShield problem (just in case, for other applications).
