  Im new to PI, need help…!?

  Im new to PI, and I am having some probs, first, how do u import video into PI, I want to add an explosion to 1 of my videos and im not sure how. and secondly how do u mod the text in the text emitters (example: the “MTV test emitter”)

  To import video, right-click in the Layer’s window and choose Background Image.

  For Text:

  you need to create an image of your text in a program like Photoshop.

  Just make sure it the size of the image is in multiples of 16 – i.e. 128×256, 32×256 (or any variation).

  Make the letters white, and the BG black, and save as a Tiff or TGA.

  Then in the emitter properties go to the Change shape tab and then import the image (via one of the “Import Image…” buttons).

  Regarding BG footage:

  Check out this Tutorial. it will explain how to use BG footage. Only thing to remember is that in the tutorial it’s a still image, but otherwise it works almost exactly the same:
