  Fair Use vs. Licensing for Doc film

  Hey All –
  Working on an ambitious doc project ( i’m a DP, so first time in producer’s chair) and I am trying to figure out the best use practices for using copyrighted material in my film. Some things I’ve read says fair use and others say ‘get the licensing’ …

  I am looking to use news broadcasts, TV commercials, magazine covers, etc… anyone have any ideas or references they could send my way…?
