  Multiplexing 4 sources for live streaming

  I am creating a new live stream show that will need to bring 4 video sources and one from my mixer. My mixer has USB out, so I don’t think that will be an issue, but I am uncertain how to multiplex (right word?) the 4 video sources.

  These will be 4 cameras, in the same room, fixed. They do not need to cross-fade or transition in any way, but they need to tile up on the live stream (2×2).

  This is a show on a budget, and I’m really only seeking advice on a multiplexing unit that will input 4 cameras and output a digital signal that my computer will recognize just like any other camera input.

  I hope this is the right forum to ask a technical question like this, and I appreciate any direction or re-direction.

  You want the input of your streaming system to think it is seeing one picture, but it’s really 4 PIP’s. Multiplexers like that are common in the security products sections of suppliers like Sony, Canon, and Panasonic. My forst lap ona earch for things like this is always B+H though.
