I currently am using a Blackmagic openGear 10-output sync generator to time out my live event setup.

Everything eats the HD tri-level sync correctly except for 2 cameras (Panasonic AW-HE50) which will only sync to Black burst, so I use the sync outputs of my Ross Carbonite switcher (which is taking in Tri-level) to output SD BBS for these oddball cameras. So far so good, and they sync immediately to the switcher.

However, I move these PTZ cameras around in various places, and would like to lay in sync cable permanently in these various places.

Question: is there an easy way to re-generate this Black burst using the original source? Or, more accurately, split this signal to multiple destinations? I know that running my HS-sync into a splitter kills the timing since it will always be reclocked. Can the Blackburst be thrown into an analog DA to be sent to multiple locations?

    Thanks,
    Rob.

Yes, you may use an analogue DA to distribute both blackburst and tri-level sync.
