  How do you switch Reference Sources?

  Hi Guys,

  Just wondering how the best way would be to switch Reference sources in our Post Facility?

  At the moment we just hard patch, for example we run BB in to both the edit suite and Digi when we do a digi playout, and we hard patch to Tri Sync on the Kona we we play out to HDCAM.

  I thought that a good soloution could be to use a Composite Video Router, that we we can set up “scenes” where the reference routing changes to match the SDI and RS422 routing.

  I have been advised that I should never route different flavours of reference, as the outputs of the router may not be in sync to them selves.

  Does anyone have any better solutions?
