  • another cs4 bug? posterize a wiggle.

    Posted by Scott Geersen on November 21, 2008 at 5:05 am

    hi guys,
    i think i have found another bug.
    this expression:

    posterizeTime(5);
    wiggle(5, 50)

    produces different results in cs4 to cs3.

    cs3 wiggles with hold, cs4 wiggles with no hold (the posterize does not seem to apply).

    i am using a mac pro 8 core and have both cs3 and cs4 installed.
    i want to use some random stuttering motion, and this expression used to work great for me. now, i find that i am having trouble creating stuttery motion because the expression won’t work the way it used to.

    can anyone else confirm or deny this?
    why would adobe do that?

    thanks,
    scott.

    I can’t confirm your bug currently as I don’t have access to CS4 and CS3, but I can offer a potential work around. I have no idea if this will work, but give it a shot:

    x = wiggle(5, 50);
    posterizeTime(5);
    x;

    hey darby,
    that doesn’t seem to work in cs4 either.
    dan or other expressions experts, does anyone have a workaround for this?? i find it quite odd that the behaviour for this expression is totally different going from cs3 to cs4.

    my response doesn’t seem to be showing up in the posts list on the main page (or page 2, or 3, depending on the date and how many posts you have set to show on the front page). is this a cow feature i don’t know about?
    anyway, as i said, the expression workaround given by darby doesn’t seem to work for cs4. thanks anyway, but it looks like i am stuck until a 9.01 update comes out. 🙁
