First off, the footage will not go into any NLE. Capture then converted to a different codec for broadcast.

Trying to set up an ingest system with different decks. We recieve all types of tapes, DV, DVCAM, DVCPro (HD), DBeta, BetaSP and HDCAM with CC. I want to use AJA’s VTR Xchange to do the capturing to avoid buying NLE on several system. I have been able to capture from any deck and keep the closed captions. Doing my test I get the .movs with a CC track and in QT Player the CC are displayed. The problem is when I have to convert the SD files to mpeg2 (program stream), the CC track is removed and in QT Player the Show CC is greyed out.

While I have been looking at the AJA system on Macs, I’m not tied to it since we are purchasing all new equipment.

    Thanks for any help.
