  Filming in extreme heat (Fires)

  I’ve recently been hired to produce training videos for a local fire academy. Currently i’m using a Canon XH-A1s to shoot everything. When the classes do certain burn/heat training, I am unable to film inside because of the extreme heat tempuratures from the fire. I found 1 helmet camera that will withstand the high heat and is used by professional firefighters, but I’m curious is there any cameras out there other then a point and shoot helmet cam where I would be able to film inside these burn boxes with the academy students? My camera says it will work in tempuratures up to 104 degrees, inside these burn boxes tempuratures go to about 600+ degrees. Any suggestions?

  Hi Josh,

  I have been asked to do some filming along the same lines and haven’t be able to come up with a solution for filming in these kind of temperatures. I was wondering if since your post you have been able to come up with a solution?
  I’d be extremely grateful if you could share any knowledge you had gained on this subject.
