Hey, I’m using Keylight in AfterEffects CS3. I’ve keyed out a blue background but my subject, who is wearing a gray shirt, has artifacts (little spots) playing all over his shirt and on some of the black parts of his shoes during playback. Anything I should mess with/add any more keyers or effects? I have the subject white with little gray when I go to “Status” in keylight, but the artifacts just won’t go away.

When I have those problems i usally use a green screen like this one

Beacause the blue can get realy close to a grey and red color

    In Keylight
    Set view to Combined matte
Play with the settings “Clip Black” “Clip White” and the “Screen Despot”

If that doesn’t work you should start making mattes,
check the tutorials for procedural mattes and garbage matte,
you’ll find some good techiques there.

No I’m not going to say “use green screen” cause that would not be an answer to your question

    cya,
