    Hi,

My job requires clipping segments from outlets like the TODAY show or Food Network so we can archive for our clients (who are in said segments). We are about to get a major upgrade to the video pipeline and capture directly from the HD DVR thru HDMI with a KONA LHi card. Now I’m worried that some networks may have embedded copyright protection and my new $1500 will be rendered useless… To your knowledge, would I have problems capturing content off of major networks? (strictly for archival and promotional usage).

    Thanks.

Not if you crop out the VITC on the fly. Basicly, this is all cheap little privacy protection beater boxes do.
