  SDI timecode into Sony A500

  Is there a way to convince a Sony DVW 500 deck to use the timecode that is embedded in the input SDI data stream.

  I know I can do it with my HDW 1800 deck with the push of a button but the A500 baffles me.

  On the A500 we have been using external and VITC but I have some source on a J3 deck that doesn’t have the VITC and need to dub it to digibeta and of course the J3 does not have analog TC out.

  Please help and there is a case of beer in it for anyone that has the solution.
