  Best color correction for digital projection

  I need to transfer our film for projection at a film festival. The festival requires BETA SP or DIGIBETA. I’m assuming DIGIBETA is better so I will go for that. The problem I have is that I can’t do any projection testing until the day of the screening. The film looks great on an LCD screen but it plays on the dark side (see trailer below) so should I modify the color correction (or the Lift/Gamma/Gain) somewhat for optimal projection?

  You can only color correct for a given situation when you can be there, or simulate the same situation.
  Otherwise, spend big bucks on an ‘as average as possible’ suite.
  (really, it takes 25K for a monitor alone to simulate ‘average’)

  My advice, go there, jack panel from the Digibeta, set the buttons to your liking, and then press the switches back to default, notify the projection guys to switch back to custom before your show.
  (they will not, i promise…)
