Closed Caption from Beta SP to MPEG2
I’m trying to encode a show that has closed caption info from Beta SP and output an MPEG2 with the cc info attached. Thus far I have been unsuccessful. Anyone have any suggestions on work flow or software/hardware that might be able to accomplish this fairly inexpensively?
I’ve captured through an AJA IO to Final Cut and have been able to keep the cc info in an uncompressed mov file. I’ve tried a few transcoders but nothing seems to keep the cc info when exporting the MPEG2.
Any help would be appreciated.

Closed captioning on line 21 is not preserved during encoding. If you are authoring a DVD, you’ll need to provide the CC in .scc files.

I would think there should be a way to keep the cc info on encode. I imagine that the most TV stations around the country would need to do this when they accept shows on tape that have closed captioning and they air a digital file.
My final destination is a 360 Systems Image Server 2000 So I need to have an MPEG2 with the cc info attached.

I have a similar workflow need.
I am encoding video from BetaSP, the caption data is getting encoded in my .MOV file. Going through a DVCPro deck and using just regular old HTSC DV Compression. Double checked my file and the Closed Caption data is there. The last step for me is to get file to MPEG-2 in a way that preserves that data. According to the DVD studio pro manual it appears this should be possible, but right now I have yet to figure out how.
