  LTC Timecode Router?

  Hey Gang,

  We have a number of devices at our facility that use LTC timecode usually passed through XLR cables. We’re in the process of rewiring our facility, and we’ve decided to go with the Blackmagic Broadcast Video Hub to handle our SDI/422, but now I’m looking for something to eliminate manual patching of timecode cables. Can anyone recommend such a device?

  I’m on thin ice here, but i _think_ any analog audio router would work. Don’t know what the cable specs are for LTC, but as far as I know, it passes through standard audio cable fine, and I’m pretty sure I’ve seen it go through an audio distribution amp.

  Though I’ll have to leave it to someone else to tell if this would be considered a failsafe approach 🙂

  The thing to be careful of is that most analog audio DA’s have a tendency to round off the waves, time code needs to be square to read properly. If the waves are rounded it can cause some errors in readings.
