    If you use trapcode particular, just animate a mask to wipe away your footage and then duplicate that layer and change the mask so it reveals only a small strip of your text as it disappears. Then use the strip layer as a layer emitter for Particular. You may want to turn the text pure white. You may need to precompose the strip layer for Particular to read it correctly. Also, you cant use any aux particles with this method–try it, and you will see why.

    I did not look at the tutorial you posted. Yes, this is simple, but if you have Trapcode form, just use a custom particle. Form supports the same particles as does Particular. You just dont have the bounce abilities that Particular possesses. If you use Particular, just use a layer emitter and follow along with the Form tutorial. It will work out the same. You may have to tweak the settings in Particular to get the same look, but use Air Physics, wind, turb field and you should get similar results.
