Hi would like to know what is involved in adding Descriptive video to a broadcast project. What type of software/equipment is involved in the process? Any help would be appreciated

For the recording and distribution of the program, no “special” equipment is required.

You would record the audio of the VO for the Video Descriptions on an additional audio track(s) on the master tape.
BetaCamSP or Digital BetaCam would be suitable for mastering.

It would typically be broadcast on the SAP of the station playing the program. It would be patched from the Description audio track on the tape to the proper SAP transmitter audio input by the station.

If the program was going to DVD, you would create an alternate audio track that contained a mix that included the audio of the Descriptions.
