  AE vegas effect lightstreak

  Hello!

  I’ve just made a small lightstreak effect – watch here: https://www.wein-tafelhaus.de/lightstreak

  What I don’t like is: the motion path seems to be used as a loop. When the streak starts at the beginning point its tail is visible at the end point of the path when the animation begins. How can I avoid this?
  Is there an option in the settings that I just couldnt find?
  Or is it possible with an expression command?

  Due to the way Vegas works, I think you may need to use another layer as an alpha matte to hide the end of the stroke when it starts.

  Make a solid above your Vegas layer, make a mask over the end point of the light streak your trying to hide. Set the track matte of the vegas layer to “Alpha Inverted.”
  Once your stroke clears the end point, have the matte layer move to the beginning of your stroke so the streak won’t loop. (You may want to use hold keyframes so your matte layer doesn’t wander over the stroke you want to see.
