  • Trouble encoding, plus combining audio and video into one file, plus mixdown surround to stereo….

    Posted by Bill Russell on July 17, 2015 at 11:28 pm

    The video part works if I remove the audio part. But I’ve tried a million different ways and it keeps telling me I’m trying to set the video bitrate of my output file. Arrrgh!

    I have two input files:
    video.mxf
    audio_5.1-surround.mxf.

    I want to combine the two into
    movie_x264_12000k_aac_284k.mov

    ….mixing the 5.1 audio to stereo along the way.

    There is where I left off:

    ffmpeg -y -i video.mxf -c:v libx264 -preset medium -b:v 12000k -pass 1 -an -f mov /dev/null && \
    ffmpeg -i video.mxf -c:v libx264 -preset medium -b:v 284k -pass 2 \
    -i audio_5.1-surround.mxf -ac 2 -c:a libfdk_aac -b:a 284k movie_x264_1200k_aac_284.mov

    You need to include the complete console output from your command.
