    Hi,

I have a few videos I will be recording this weekend – just speeches by one person. I will be recording in this format:

    Stream #0.0[0x1011]: Video: h264 (High), yuv420p, 1920×1080 [PAR 1:1 DAR 16:9], 59.96 fps, 59.94 tbr, 90k tbn, 59.94 tbc
    Stream #0.1[0x1100]: Audio: ac3, 48000 Hz, stereo, s16, 256 kb/s

and want to convert that to a fairly low quality DVD. The Audio has to remain good, but the video quality I’m not most particular about. At what resolution should I scale too?

This is the current conversion I use:
    fmpeg -i 00006.MTS -vf “crop=1440:1080:1440:1080,scale=640:480” -f dvd -vcodec mpeg2video -r 29.97 -b 4000k -mbd rd -trellis -mv0 -cmp 2 -subcmp 2 -acodec mp2 -ab 192k -ar 48000 -ac 2 00006.mpg

Reason why I want a low quality is because I want to be able to write several speeches (maybe 3 to 4 hrs) unto 1 DVD. Any other suggestions that I should change?

    Mark
