  • How to set data rate in Compressor

I want to change the data rate for photo-jpeg in Compressor in order to get the best possible quality video files for export to stock sites. (please let’s leave the discussion prores vs photojpeg behind. Photo-jpeg has worked well for me, generates smaller files than prores and is compatible across all platforms)

But when I select Photo-Jpeg as my Compression setting, data rate is greyed out.

Strange thing is: the data rate for photo-jpeg on my MacBook Pro is much higher than the data rate on my iMac Retina. 286 vs 22 Mbit/s

I can’t figure out why this is or how to change it?! I used to get identical data rates on both computers but the only thing I can think of is that it changed on my iMac after I upgraded to Compressor 4.2.1 (my MB Pro still runs 4.2)

    Thanks for your help.
