  Can’t install x264 codec

  I can’t get the numerous x264 component files to install on my mac. I’ve copied the component file to my Quicktime library folder, exited Quicktime, and then opened it back up. Nothing shows up in the compression type selection. Any ideas?

  * Put x264Encoder.component into /Library/QuickTime folder.
  which should be Macintosh HD/Library/QuickTime
  Not username/Library/QuickTime
  just in case that’s the mistake you made.

  Alway repair disk permissione and reboot just to be sure.
  Test from an Admin account.

  In Quicktime File>Export>Movie to QuickTime Move, Video, Settings Button, depending on what you have installed it will likely be directly after VIdeo (that the codec name) and, for me, right before my XDCAM EX codecs.

  Make sure you meet the system specs for the current version

  [Known Issue]
  * For MacOS X 10.5 PPC, use previous version(1.2.20).
  * MBAFF Interlaced support is experimental. Please take a look at document “x264Encoder HOWTO a.t.3”.
