  Compressor Settings

  Hi,

  Could someone please advise or point me to useful material that will enable me to make the following settings on Apple Compressor 3.5? Ideally a screen visual of the Compressor Inspector would be great 🙂

  Please note the file has to be .mp4

  +++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++
  HD 1080, Square pixels, 16:9 aspect ratio – (not in anamorphic)
  25 FPS
  Compressed VBR, 2 Pass, Target Bitrate 4Mbps maximum Bitrate 6 Mbps.

  Compressor doesn’t create .mp4. The .m4v files used for iOS device encodes can also be .mp4 if you change the extension by hand but those don’t have user controlled settings.

  If you can live with .mov all you need to do is make a custom setting to your specs. If that’s the case I’m not quite sure what issue you’re having.

  You can probably get away with using MPEG Streamclip for this. It does a very nice MP4 encode. Open your file in MPEG Streamclip and choose Export to MP4. Try these values:

  

  No place for VBR in there, but it should come close to what you want (for free).
