  .mp4 to Pro Res, getting white screen

  I’m trying to convert an entire film (office space) to pro res for me to muck around with it in final cut. So I have an .mp4 file using the codec .h264, and when I try to convert to pro res in quicktime, I get a white screen, with audio. MPEG stream clip won’t even let me do anything, I get an “error: can’t prepare the movie.”

  If I use handbrake, I got video, but the audio was in slow motion. Right now I’m doing compressor, but it’s going to take over 11 hours supposedly.

  What the hell is going on? What’s the best (or at least one) way to convert an .mp4 to pro res?

  Never mind, I figured it out. The file was just too massive, that’s why everything was messing up and compressor was going to take so long. I’m guessing it would have worked but I didn’t feel like waiting so long for a guess.

  So now I’m just going to take selects. MPEG streamclip will let me export like no more than 5 mins at a time.
