MPEG consistent stutter..
Did some searching, wasn’t able to find anything about this… maybe you can help.
I’m experiencing a weird issue when playing MPEG videos. Lemme give you a little background info
Intel Core2 Quad Q6600 @ 2.4Ghz
Windows 7 Ultimate 64-bit
8GB RAM
7.5 Tb combined HHD space ( 7200rpm WD drives)
2x Nvidia 8800 GT (SLI disabled (3monitors))The Problem: Just recently, my computer has been consistently stuttering MPEG playback for known-good video files.. The stutter is a ‘hiccup’ of the audio & video that occurs at the same exact time, regardless of which player I’m using
This issue just started recently. I use CS5 media encoder to output an MPEG file. I playback the file using Media Player Classic. Video clip will stutter or hiccup, causing a drop-frame sorta thing and audio drop-out.. this occurs at the same time in the video, say 0:21 seconds, and never moves… even if i try a different player like Adobe media player or windows media player.. the ‘hiccup’ occurs at the same time during playback.
I was beating my head against the desk thinking my MPEG compression was at fault.. I rendered the same video out to AVI and it played back perfectly. Took that AVI and re-rendered an MPEG off of it, still has hiccups..
So.. I transfered the videos w/ issues to another computer… and guess what… NO PROBLEM.. video plays back perfect. No hiccups..
So clearly this is a playback issue on my machine… the question is, how to fix it and what made it start occuring?
Recently, the only major things I’ve installed was software for Java Programming and development (the latest JDK, Eclipse, as well as the Android SDK & stuff)
I reinstalled the latest K-lite codecs, MPC, and 64-bit codecs.. issue still there.. I cleaned my HDD’s and defraged.. still there…
any thoughts??
thanks in advance.
